INDOOR SOCCER REGISTRATION Has begun

Hello Parents,

Indoor Soccer Registrations will begin Aug 15th. After a successful Outdoor season we are excited to be offering an Indoor program for children ages 4-15, this program will be more cost effective and emphasize more on community soccer. We have small roster sizes so that your children will have more attention and touch the ball more.

Cash, cheques, Email Transfers, Debit and Credit are now accepted during your registration.

The advantages of our program include:

· Reasonable and affordable participation fees

· Outdoor season starts In May and concludes at the end of June sometimes into July. Allowing for one game a week, some practice time as well. Indoor Season Starts in October and ends in Feb.

· Fully volunteer run program with community focus

· Smaller roster size teams which allows for more playing time for each player.

· Ability to participate in clinics for coaches and players.

At this time we can’t guarantee that we will have complete teams for a specific age group. In this instance, we may have to transfer players to another community or create mix teams. If you have a team you would like to play for please let us know.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

Please note that while we try to accommodate all requests to move up age groups or play with specific coaches or players, our priority is always to ensure that children from our community are placed on teams first, then to accommodate special requests for returning players, and finally special requests for new players. As such we can’t always guarantee your requests will be honored. In the event there are not enough children or coaches to facilitate a team, we work with other communities in the area to ensure everyone has a team to play on.

People may need 2-3 cheques:

  • for fees you can pay in person, by credit/Debit, Cash, email transfer or by cheque
  • 1 – for volunteer deposit $200 (cheque – will be destroyed if Volunteer is fulfilled )
  • 1 – Membership ( online, Cash, debit/credit for 25.00 per family per year )

What Equipment/Apparel does a parent have to buy for player?

  • Shin Guards
  • Soccer Shoes ( indoor or outdoor depending on what season it is )
  • Black shorts and Socks for some age groups

What does my Registration Fee’s pay for?

Field rentals/Gym times, keepsakes/season end celebration , pictures, possible tournaments, referees (older ages) , insurance, socks & shorts, coach’s courses, first aid supplies, soccer equipment ( balls, nets, cones etc).

Coaches are volunteers and do not get paid.

Memberships, Volunteer Commitments, and Player Cards etc.

Membership

You will be required to purchase a community league membership to register for the Soccer Season. Memberships will be available for purchase during registration and are valid until August of each year. The membership fee is $25.00 per family, If you purchased one for Indoor you do not need to purchase another one for outdoor.

Volunteer commitments

Everyone must sign up for 1 volunteer commitment per household. At registration, a $250 cheque deposit will be required to be paid. Upon completion of the commitment, the $250 cheque will be destroyed. Volunteer commitment is with the community you play with.

Choices are; cleanup days, community league days/AGM, soccer tournament helpers, Registration helpers, Casinos, etc.

There will be a $20.00 charge for NSF cheques.

Refund Policy:

Registration fees are refundable before the season starts up to the 1st game played, after 1 game and before the 4th game refunds are pro rated, After the 4th game played no refunds given out unless a season ending injury then it will be prorated.
Community memberships are not refundable.

KidSport / Jumpstart

We believe that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. KidSport™ provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organised sport. Apply for funding during registration, All funding is done online see below, must be done before coming into pay. We recommend applying for both

KidsSport now only provides up to 125.00 towards Indoor and 75.00 towards Outdoor

Jumpstart now only provides 150.00 towards Indoor and 150.00 towards Outdoor

Coaches Needed:

All community teams are coached by parent volunteers. All coaches in the CGSA program MUST attend one of our coaching sessions.

Coaches will be exempt from fundraising commitment. as well they must pass a security check.

Unfortunately if we do not get a coach the community will not be able to form a team in that particular age group and the children registered will be transferred to a community that have space available on their teams. Please sign up by indicating on your child’s registration form that you are willing to coach your child’s team.

COACH’S CODE

  • Soccer is a game for happiness.
  • The laws of soccer should be regarded as mutual agreements, the spirit or letter of which no one should try to avoid or break.
  • Visiting teams and spectators are honored guests.
  • No advantages except those of superior skill should be sought.
  • Official and opponents should be treated and regarded as honest in intention.
  • Official decisions should be accepted without looking angry no matter how unfair they may seem.
  • Winning is desirable, but winning at any cost defeats the purpose of the game.
  • Losing can be a triumph when the team has given its best.
  • The ideal is the greatest good to the greatest number.
  • In soccer, as in life, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

PLAYERS’ CODE

  • Play the game for the game’s sake.
  • Be generous when you win.
  • Be gracious when you lose.
  • Be fair always, no matter what the cost.
  • Obey the Laws of the Game.
  • Work for the good of the team.
  • Accept the decisions of the Officials with good grace.
  • Believe in the honesty of your opponents.
  • Conduct yourself with honor and dignity.
  • Honestly and wholeheartedly applaud the efforts of you teammates, and opponents.

PARENTS’ CODE

  • Children have more need for example than criticisms.
  • Make athletic participation for your child and other a positive experience.
  • Attempt to relieve pressure of competition, not increase it. A child is easily affected by outside influences.
  • Be kind to your child’s coach and officials. The coach is a volunteer giving personal time and money to provide a recreational activity for your child. The coach is providing a valuable community service, often without regard other than the personal satisfaction of having served their community.
  • The opponents are necessary friends. Without them your child could not participate meaningfully.
  • Applaud good plays by your team and by members of the opposing team.
